I celebrate the human spirit as a vessel for bringing Light, Love and Life into the relationships of our being, belonging and becoming. This inspires the work of heartwisdom as that which supports all that nourishes the vessel in both the receiving and the pouring forth of our relating.

One image that helps me to picture the beautiful balance of this is the infinity symbol or the moebius strip that points to the unity as well as the dynamic movement of this rhythm of life’s offering and receiving. Another is the archetypal image of the chalice or grail vessel.

Contemplate:

What is it that you are receiving today? What is it that you are pouring forth or offering? See the vessel in various states of being, from empty to full. Let these images speak into your heart.

Communicate:

Express awareness of these gifts given and received by writing them down or talking with someone else about them. Consider what precious needs are met in both the act of giving and the act of receiving. This week take time to celebrate and communicate one need met for you by the action of another and one need you met for another by something you did.

Create:

Write a poem to describe the beauty of this vessel you are. Imagine and create a movement with your body to illustrate it for yourself. Draw, paint or photograph something that reminds you of the qualities of a human vessel. Find a metaphor for you as a human vessel and let that vessel carry you through the week as a sort of mantra calling you to awareness as you observe the rhythms of this lovely balance.
